Politicians and diapers should be changed frequently and all for the same reason - Eça de Queirós
Eça de Queirós. Writer and diplomat.
He was born in 1845 and died in 1900. He lived only 55 years and left a unique work.
He was a lucid and sarcastic man. Lord of exemplary writing, he used the words as few could do it.
In a society full of "private vice for public virtue" he had the audacity to put his finger on it and report it, an attitude that no one could have done.
Eça de Queirós was a visionary.
The books he wrote clearly show that the art of politics is confused (often) with the art of making crap.
By reading the Eça de Queirós books, we realised that in general way, very little has changed.
Now there are internet, mobile phones, cable TV, fast planes, withdrawals from cash machines, shopping online, who knows what else.
But the human essence has not changed and the way of doing politics also will not change, the raw material is the same!
Just look at the political leaders worldwide to understand that they are like diapers and diapers need to be changed frequently.
The need for this change is called democracy.
Basically, democracy has nothing to do with a government of, by and for the people, but with a need for health, when the smell is too bad... they must be changed.
I must say that I'm lucky to know honest politicians, driven by the desire of serving their community.
They are are so few...
